  • Enrollment Wizard – A while back, we changed our process slightly, adjusting the timing of when we run the enrollment wizard. By delaying this process, we found out that the student does not have the Orientation Class loaded in Canvas. This is preventing them from logging in and getting a feel for how classes will work.
From this point forward, please run the enrollment wizard as part of your “Awards Out” criteria.
  • Shared Drive – Use the shared drive! This is extremely important for several reasons. Erin brought up another great reason, they use it when they need to send something to CFA and it makes it easier for them. PLEASE use it!
  • Overlapping Loan Period – If NSLDS and COD show an end date for loans that would make it an overlapping loan period, but the loans have all been cancelled/zeroed out, we treat it like normal, not a 4 or 8-month overlap. If the loans have been cancelled then there is no loan period to deal with
  • SNAP and Adding to ISIR – If we have agency proof of SNAP for a student is selected for verification – requiring that we verify SNAP benefits, we DO NOT require a statement to accompany the agency proof. The FP can make the correction to that ISIR with the agency proof. (Ryan Perry – 5/2/16)

  • Child Support Paid – According to IFAP, we only need a statement from the person paying the child support. If things don’t add up, we can request additional information to clear up anything that seems conflicting. See below:545
  • Planner Changing ISIR Info (*Updated) – We cannot change anything on the ISIR unless we have agency proof. The number in the household and number in college can still be changed by the planner with a statement. *This primarily relates to Child Support and Wages. SNAP can still be added with a statement for all verification groups other than V6. NOTHING CAN BE REMOVED WHETHER IT HAS BEEN VERIFIED OR NOT. The student must remove it. If the planner removes it then CFA requires a wet signature.
  • Temporary ID – If a student has a temporary ID that has an expiration date that is passed the start date (regular requirement) then we can accept it, unless they are selected for ID verification.
  • Veritax – Please make sure you are selecting the right year when requesting tax transcripts (2014).
  • Forwarding Emails – DO NOT forward internal emails of any kind to our students.
  • SFAC – CFA doesn’t care if the dependents under 12 question is incorrect. Try to make it correct but if it’s wrong it will not fail audit.
  • Pending Pell – Going forward we have to make sure any pending Pell is cancelled in COD. If there is pending Pell for the current award year, it cannot be added to the PCE for AY1 until it is cancelled in COD. If NSLDS is showing Pell for the current award year, a COD screen shot must be added to the file to show that it is cancelled.

  • COD Screenshots- Auditors have gone over this a few times. Even if the loans are shown as canceled in NSLDS, they need the COD screenshots.
    • If the loan period end date ends within the last year in NSLDS, pull the COD screenshots. Erin has sent multiple emails on what’s required.
  • Delete duplicate forms out of CVue-  Auditors will start failing files for this if it’s not pointed out in the audit email and stated which ones need to be deleted.
  • Appointments-If you reschedule an appointment for any reason, you MUST make sure you notify the AC and ADOA.
  • Cover Page- When putting together your forms to send to students in docusign select “Cover Page” first then all of your forms will upload to Cvue themselves.  There were a lot of different combinations of forms being sent so it wouldn’t upload.  Selecting “Cover Page” first will ensure that all of the forms your student signs will upload. • ARM Approval-When asking for ARM approval for a loan over 25,000 Bret Whetman will be consulting with Alan Hansen who is being very cautious.
  • UEH- When a UEH approval is denied you can appeal the denial.
    • Get Statement from student that they are aware that a 2.0 GPA is required to be eligible and that there will be a delay in funding.
    • No funding will be ordered until the student passes their first class
    • PCE remains the same
    • Send appeal letter to Online CFA for second approval and put that with the UEH file once received
